Why do "free" QR codes stop working?

Many generators make dynamic codes. The code only holds a short link to the generator's server, which forwards every scan to your page. That lets them count scans, and it lets them switch your code off when the free trial ends. Printed menus, flyers and business cards then lead to a payment page.

Codes made here are static: your content is inside the code itself. There is no server in between that could stop working or be switched off.

What static codes cannot do

A static code cannot be edited after printing and cannot count scans. If a printed code may need to point somewhere else later, put a link to a page on your own website in it, and change that page instead.

That way you keep control, and nobody can hold your printed codes hostage.

Questions

Is it really free?
Yes, also for business use. There is no trial, no limit, no watermark and no account.
Will my code ever stop working?
No. Your content is stored inside the code itself, so there is no server that could be switched off. The code works as long as the link or details in it are still correct.
Is my Wi-Fi password safe?
The code is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us. Keep in mind that anyone who scans a Wi-Fi code can read the password, as with every Wi-Fi QR code, so only put it where your guests can see it.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. The tool switches error correction to High so the code survives the covered middle, and checks that it still scans before you download it.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for screens, documents and quick printing. SVG for professional print: it stays sharp at any size.
Do you see who scans my code?
No, and that is the point: scanning one of these codes never touches our servers or anyone else's.
